Tip of the Day: Dry - or Damaged Hair?

You can probably notice your body's about to fall sick by detecting a few symptoms. For most common illnesses, you don't even need a GP, but how do you determine the health of your hair?

Unless you have a microscope, it's practically impossible to detect hair problems. Most people rely instead on their scalp for any symptoms. Although permissible, it can't be correct in all circumstances. A good example is this tip I'm going to tell you.

How do you differentiate between dry hair and damaged hair? Both fall off, and both will break off if you pull them. The point is, hair is too small for us to look at. So, try this - put some water, then oil in a transparent glass. Because of the difference in density, oil will stay on top of the water. Cut a small piece of your hair (about an inch, 4-5 pieces), and put it in the glass.

If the hair stays in the oil (doesn't sink into the water) then you probably have dry hair, but if your hair sinks all the way down into the water, you have damaged hair. So now you can find the correct shampoo to treat your hair (although I prefer the traditional way- less chemicals)

That's it for today. Post later - Ciao.
