Tip of the Day: Go(a)t Milk?
To most of us who are not lactose-intolerant, milk is a staple drink we take every morning before we go about our activities. We all know that Mom's milk (breast milk) is the best, but us adults are not eligible for it anymore, since the age of about, say 3 years old.
But do you know the next best milk? It's not cow's milk - if that's what you're thinking. Goat's milk is the superior drink, recommended for children and senior citizens. It is easier to digest compared to cow's milk (roughly 1/2 hour compared to almost 2 hours), which helps kids grow better and healthier.
For children with asthma, goat's milk can actually help increase resistance by improving the lung's ability to immunise itself. It is also good for babies with jaundice, and this is a tip which goes back generations here. In terms of nutrients, goat's milk has at least twice as much calcium and protein, whilst also having about four times the amount vitamins compared to cow's milk.
I guess all the above explains why goat's milk formula for children are so darn expensive compared to other typers of milk............Post later. Ciao.
