Tip of the Day: Did he say "Asbestos"?

Hubby talked to his brother through the phone the other day, and something caught my ear. His brother was changing the ceiling because it was cracked, and the ceiling was a few pieces of asbestos. I immediately remembered an article I'd read somewhere sometime ago about asbestos, particularly the danger it poses in terms of health.

There's an article at About.com about the dangers of asbestos - HERE. Basically, asbestos has been used for a long time in the construction industry. In fact, most houses that are more than ten years old have asbestos ceilings. The danger I'm talking about is when the asbestos particles are set free and inhaled by humans - it creates a disease you can't even pronounce correctly the first time - Mesothelioma - cancer of the lining of the chest and abdominal cavity. There's also a more in-depth article HERE.

Careful, all you people. You might not know until it's too late, so better safe than sorry. Ciao.
