Tip of the Day: Hot or Cold - or Both?
Have you ever broken a glass just by pouring hot water in it? Y'know, some glasses just can't tolerate when you alternate its use between hot and cold water. But there is a way you can lengthen its life by making it more resistant to hot and cold water.
Mom's advice: When buying glass, put it in hot water as soon as you get home (preferably water that's just been boiled) for roughly 1/2 hour, then take out and rinse with normal tap water for a few minutes. This should make it more resistant and not break as easily when switching between hot and cold water.
OK, hope this helps - Ciao.
