Tip of the Day: Wax in your Noodles?
Here's something interesting - a friend of mine watched a TV show the other day, it's about a nutritionist telling people to be careful when eating instant noodles.
Point: Apparently, the noodles contain wax, which can take quite some time for our body to dispose - 3 days, to be exact. So, eating instant noodles often isn't exactly a good idea. What with all the MSG, flavorings etc that makes things worse. If the wax accumulates in our body (or if our body is inefficient to dispel all of it) these things can be cancerous.
Counterpoint: If the noodles contain wax, then cooking in (in normal cooking temperatures - 70 Degrees Celsius) can surely burn it off. Most of us cook the noodles by frying (only those lazy ones put it in hot water for 2 mins than eat it ), because it tastes better that way, and we can add other things - such as veggies, meat/chicken and our own flavour instead of the packets that come with it.
Conclusion? This is something that cannot be easily proven. Wax can be eliminated by our body as easily as other toxins - it's when your body is inefficient (malnourished / malnutritioned) that these things become a concern. After all, wouldn't it be commonsense to not eat these things every day? Bread is better (most breads are now bromate-free, minus one health concern), and it definitely cheaper than these five-pack noodles.
I'll leave it to you to decide. Ciao.
